CHINALIVE BRINGS NEW PRODUCER ON BOARD [01.10.2004] BEIJING - OMI Consulting has announced that Paul Reilly is joining Chinalive Productions in Beijing. Paul brings wide international production experience from leading European broadcasters and lifestyle producers and will work on building Chinalive's corporate PR film division, including production of tailored marketing, informational and promotional sales tools for OMI companies and international and Chinese clients.


OMI APPOINTS NEW MARKETING DIRECTOR [01.10.2004] BEIJING - OMI has appointed Jochen Tenhagen as Marketing Director in its OMI Consulting venture based in Beijing. A graduate of Bremen University of Applied Sciences and formerly with Deutsche Bank, Jochen will be responsible for developing OMI's brand communications business, with specific focus on coordinating OMI's media and football properties for major consumer brand clients targeting the 2006 Germany World Cup.


CHINALIVE COMMISSIONED FOR 'NBA CHINA GAMES' [14.09.2004] BEIJING/SHANGHAI - Chinalive has been commissioned by the NBA to provide crew, equipment and logistical support for the NBA China Games 2004. The Yao Ming-led Houston Rockets and the Sacramento Kings are scheduled to play two exhibition games October 14 and 17 in Shanghai and Beijing, respectively. The NBA China Games will be the first time Yao Ming returns to his native country with his NBA team since he joined the Rockets in 2002.


OMI CHAIRMAN TO ADVISE BEIJING ON PRE-OLYMPIC PROJECTS [01.09.2004] BEIJING - OMI Chairman Rowan Simons has been re-appointed by the Beijing Municipal Government Information Office to advise on new international cultural and sports events in the lead-up to the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The appointment follows OMI's creation of an original ClubFootball event to celebrate the end of the SARS crisis in 2003 and ClubFootball's official recognition by BOCOG.


OMI WINS AVAYA EVENT LOGISTICS COMMISSION [02.08.2004] HONGKONG/BEIJING - OMI's Beijing subsidiary OIC has won the bid to provide local logistics support for the "Avaya Connect 2004" conference to be held from October 28 to 29 in Beijing. Working closely with Avaya agency Imagination, OIC will ensure smooth operations for the event that involves a series of meetings, conferences and networking events for over 600 delegates from Mainland China and East Asia.


CHINALIVE CONTRACTED TO COVER AFC ASIAN CUP CHINA 2004 [22.06.2004] BEIJING - Middle East satellite TV station Al Jazeera Sports contracted Chinalive to provide extensive production support for their three city coverage of the region's largest football event, the Asian Cup. Support will include all production personnel, post-production facilities and logistics. The Asian Cup 2004 is hosted by the Asian Football Confederation and is the most prestigious football event in Asian football.


CHINA DAY AT MIPTV [08.04.2004] CANNES - China's largest ever international promotion of its media industries has been successfully held at Reed Midem's MIPTV in France. The "China Day" delegation of over 200 media representatives was led by SARFT Vice Minister Hu Zhanfan, while the event included a major exhibition of Chinese programming, a high level conference involving CEOs from China's five largest media groups and a reception for 100 global media leaders hosted by the Mayor of Cannes. The event was organized by SARFT and CITVC and co-ordinated by Reed Midem's China agent CMM-I.


OMI APPOINTED TO ADVISE EURO SPORTS PLAYER ON CHINA [01.04.2004] PARIS - OMI Consulting has been appointed to advise one of Europe's largest sports broadcasters on its China strategy, including the opportunities for investment in China's growing digital media space ahead of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. The fixed term contract covers development of relations with stakeholders including BOCOG, CCTV and Beijing TV.


OMI WRAPS THINK UK AWARDS [01.01.2004] BEIJING - OMI Consulting has successfully completed its China Environmental TV Awards event for the UK Government's Think UK campaign with the holding of a reception and Awards ceremony in Beijing. Attended by British Minister Bill Rammell and Awards sponsors BP, Shell and Thames Water, the event celebrated the efforts of over 100 Chinese film makers, including winners from CCTV, Guangxi TV and Chengdu TV who produced films in the UK.
