OMI CHAIRMAN DEBATES CHINESE TV TRENDS
[05.12.2005] SINGAPORE - Speaking at the annual Asian TV Forum, OMI Chairman Rowan Simons has told delegates that trends in China's TV production sector in 2006 will be led by the World Cup, cheap 'copy cat' talent formats and political dramas and documentaries. While polarisation will continue to lower production values, he noted that the domestic animation industry will show signs of improvement after several years of government policies to block foreign content and encourage co-production.

WWF OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT AWARD PRESENTED IN SICHUAN
[30.11.2005] CHENGDU/BEIJING - China's premier documentary awards ceremony at the Sichuan TV Festival has concluded with the World Wide Fund for Nature's presentation of an outstanding achievement award to Madame Sun Jianying, Director of Sichuan TV International. Created by OMI Consulting and managed by CMM-I as part of celebrations for WWF's 25 years in China, the Award recognizes Madame Sun's series of award-winning documentaries and tireless work promoting China's documentary industry.

YANJING CUP BRINGS CLUBFOOTBALL FACE TO FACE WITH BOCOG
[14.11.2005] BEIJING - First created to celebrate victory over SARS in 2003, ClubFootball's International Football Friendly Cup organized for the Beijing Municipal Government Information Office has been held as part of the official 1,000 day Olympic countdown programme. With Yanjing Beer replacing Ford as title sponsor, this year's match saw the Beijing Organizing Committee of the Olympic Games (BOCOG) triumph 5-4 against a ClubFootball International XI representing all previous Olympic host countries.

CLUBFOOTBALL ATTENDS OLYMPIC MASCOT LAUNCH
[12.11.2005] BEIJING - A total of forty ClubFootball members took part in the Official Launch of the Olympic Mascot at the Workers' Gymnasium. Featuring a collection of performers and stars, this spectacular performance celebrated 1,000 days to the beginning of the 2008 Beijing Olympics, and also the launch of the mascots Beibei, Jingjing, Huanhuan, Yingying, and Nini. OMI PARTNERS DW FOR CHINA WORLD CUP CAMPAIGN
[22.10.2005] BEIJING - OMI Consulting is teaming up with official 2006 World Cup media partner Deutsche Welle to exploit its World Cup content in China. In a deal inked at 2005 MIPCOM, OMI Consulting will coordinate sponsored syndication of DW content on regional systems from February 2006, starting with a 12 x 30 minute series on the twelve World Cup host cities.

ALLIED PICKFORDS SPONSORS ISB SOCCER ACADEMY
[26.09.2005] BEIJING - International moving company, Allied Pickfords, has become the new kit sponsor of the ClubFootball-managed ISB Soccer Academy in Beijing, the largest football academy serving international and Chinese communities. Allied Pickfords support will continue through Spring-break courses in early 2006.

CLUBFOOTBALL EXPANDS JUNIOR ACADEMY FRANCHISE

CHINALIVE PRODUCES WORLD CELEBRITY GOLF 2005
[13.08.2005] BEIJING - Chinalive Productions has successfully delivered full video coverage of the 2005 World Celebrity Golf event for organizers EEC and Sportsunite, including a 60 minutes show. Hosted at Pine Valley Golf Resort & Country Club in Beijing from September 9-11, the event raised money for charities in China and featured local and international celebrities, led by former US president Bill Clinton.

CHINALIVE WRAPS NFL FLAG FOOTBALL SHOW
[01.08.2005] BEIJING - Chinalive has wrapped production on a 30 minute program highlighting the National Football Leagues's 2005 Flag Football World Championship 2005. In its third year, the prestigious tournament was held at the Xiannongtan Stadium in Beijing from August 19-21 with teams from the US, Canada, China, Japan, Germany, Korea, Mexico, Thailand, Spain and Italy. OMI RETAINS AVAYA CONTRACT FOR IMAGINATION
[07.07.2005] HONGKONG/BEIJING - OIC has retained its logistical support contract for Avaya's major user event 'Avaya Connect 2005', to be held at Beijing's Kerry Centre on September 23. Working under the direction of Avaya agency Imagination, OIC will help ensure the smooth delivery of Avaya's hospitality programme for over 600 delegates, including the exhibition of the FIFA World Cup trophy as part of Avaya's global partnership with FIFA.

CLUBFOOTBALL RECOGNIZED BY BOCOG AT OLYMPIC CULTURE FESTIVAL
[30.06.2005] BEIJING - ClubFootball has been invited by the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the 29th Olympiad (BOCOG) to represent Beijing's international sports community at the Opening Ceremony of the 'Road to 2008' Olympic Cultural Festival, including the unveiling of the slogan for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

Companies including Beta Film, Deutsche Welle, German United Distributors, Granada, Neptuno, RTVE, S4C, TV Loonland and ZZJ have chosen the European Pavilion as the optimum umbrella for their trade promotions in China. For the first time, the European Pavilion also included the MIP China Club for meetings and receptions.

MASTERCARD BEIJING COMMUNITY CUP 2005
[25.05.2005] BEIJING - The 2005 MasterCard Beijing Community Cup sponsored by Accenture has been won by Xinhua Newswire. Organized by ClubFootball and the British Chamber of Commerce in China (BCCC) the one-day, 5-a-side football competition was held inside the Workers' Stadium and involved corporations, media, amateur teams, embassies and international schools raising money for charities, Beijing Huiling and United for UNICEF.

MASTERCARD JOINS CLUBFOOTBALL REVOLUTION
[01.05.2005] BEIJING - MasterCard is the latest blue chip sponsor to join AFH's ClubFootball subsidiary in Beijing ahead of the 2006 World Cup. In the first stage of the co-operation, AFH will develop an integrated MasterCard community campaign linked to its UNICEF projects and the 2005 China Tour of Manchester United. The campaign will be delivered exclusively through ClubFootball branded public events, SMS, internet and media competitions, including a prize draw before the Manchester United vs Beijing Guo'an match in July this year.

CHINA STANDS TALL IN CANNES
[01.05.2005] CANNES - China successfully held its first exhibition of media groups and content at the new SARFT-approved China Pavilion at Reed Midem's annual MIPTV festival. Located in the heart of the exhibition complex, the China United Stand created by Reed Midem agent CMM-I and CITVC brings together major broadcast groups including CCTV with regional powerhouses Sichuan TV and Jiangsu TV and independents, Asian Union and Tanglong.

CHINALIVE IN WINNING BOCOG CONSORTIUM
[01.05.2005] BEIJING - Chinalive is part of a consortium led by Beijing TV and Phoenix TV that has beaten several international competitors to win the commission for BOCOG's first major video promotion, the launch of the 2008 global slogan. OMI CHAIRMAN PREACHES INVESTMENT CAUTION
[01.01.2005] SINGAPORE - OMI Chairman Rowan Simons has told TV delegates at the annual Asia TV Forum that China fever created by release of SARFT guidelines on foreign investment will not lead to short term opportunities, but short term measures to regain central controls. Speaking at the China conference, his message of caution was echoed by other speakers, including senior officials from Beijing TV and Wuhan TV.
